Video Streaming Protocol Continues Momentum to Becoming Industry Standard
Montreal, Canada – March 28, 2019 – The SRT Alliance, supporting the SRT Open Source Project, announces that Avid® has endorsed the SRT protocol for low-latency video streaming.
As the newest member of the SRT Alliance, Avid joins more than 200 companies, including Microsoft, Comcast, EBU/Eurovision, Harmonic, Ateme, MediaKind, Brightcove, and Kaltura, who have shown their support of the emerging SRT video streaming standard. SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is an open-source protocol, developed by Haivision, which allows broadcasters and streamers to deliver high-quality, low-latency streams across the public internet. SRT is fast becoming the de facto low-latency video streaming standard in the broadcast and streaming industries.
